Geolink developed the official web portal for the City of Sremska Mitrovica, created for citizens, businesses and other users of local government services.
The website was built as a custom PHP/MySQL solution with its own administration system, allowing the city administration to independently manage a large amount of content and multiple information types.
The portal included news, documents, tenders, public calls, local government information, e-government services and other municipal information, with support for multilingual content.
Challenge
The main challenge was to organize a large volume of different information and documents in a way that remained clear and easy to access for citizens.
A local government portal needs to support multiple content areas, frequent publication of new information and simple access to current documents, tenders and public calls.
At the same time, the administration system had to be flexible enough for different content types while remaining simple for everyday use by city administration staff.
Our solution
Geolink developed a complete custom web system with an administration panel tailored to the needs of the City of Sremska Mitrovica.
The frontend was organized around clear navigation and thematic sections such as local government, e-government, documents, tenders, news and contact information.
The administration system enabled staff to edit and publish content, upload documents and manage news, tenders and public calls without developer intervention.
Special attention was given to information structure, usability and the ability to expand the portal over time.
